Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on this part of the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. Many people who don't know about the place mistakenly think that the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is the West Island includes everything westward from Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel grew to be a woman of a certain age in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She initially wanted to be an actor, but after a sudden growth spurt her partners weren't able to dance along with her. The Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. After I outgrew the male partners, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the instance of Brugel, it was a suggestion by her drama teacher. It was her teacher who advised her to audition as Anne in their annual school production. She auditioned and was cast as Anne of Green Gables. She was awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed in 2000 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Since then, she's appeared performing in over 60 plays, smaller and large. The most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare moments in the very first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. She was the sole Canadian member.
